Ceylon
This tea comes from the Central Highland region of Dimbula in Sri Lanka (formerly called Ceylon). The region has a wet, misty climate ideal for growing tea and the best leaves are harvested during the first few months of the year. The term OP (orange pekoe) is a leaf grade and refers to its size and quality. The orange is not a reference to the flavour or appearance, as some people believe, but it is actually a link to the Dutch Royal family, the house of Orange Nassau who colonised Ceylon in the 17th century. The orange being a label of regal quality.
This tea is a fine example of a Ceylon tea, with a light golden liquor and a clean refreshing taste. It can be enjoyed with a dash of milk, but we recommend trying it black to appreciate fully the gentle subtlety of the flavour.
Available in 100g and 250g bags
